September is for sightseeing!
With these colder evening temperatures, we are beginning to see the seasonal shift with termination dust appearing high in the Chugach. This is one of our favorite times of the year, with spectacular alpine views in every direction. Incredible mountain adventures await you here in Girdwood.
Take in the views from the Veilbreaker Skybridges, explore the mountain on a scenic Side by Side Tour, join a guided eBike ride, or hit the trails on a guided hike. Whether you’re looking for a little mountain adrenaline or a slower way to take in the scenery, there’s still plenty to enjoy.
Soak up the sights, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and make the most of these final weeks. Summer may be winding down, but there’s still adventure waiting in the Chugach. Stop by our Mountain Concierge on the 2nd floor for activity recommendations and the latest conditions updates.
Today’s Forecast: The National Weather Service is calling for calm winds, mostly sunny skies, & a high temp near 60*.
Biking: The Bike Park is now closed for the season but there’s plenty of riding yet to be had. Lower Iditarod, Winner Creek, Beaver Pond, & the Bikewood trails are in excellent shape. Head out and go for a spin on some loam. Bike rentals are available through the Mountain Concierge to get you rolling.
In case gravity is still calling your name, you can still ride the bike park trails without the lifts. Rent an eBike from us & grab your uphill pass and get to shredding.
Hiking: Mountain hiking trails are open! Please note that The Race Trail Route is CLOSED while our snowmaking upgrade project continues. The routes to the top of the tram are the North Face Trail and the Bowl Route. Click here for further details.
