GETTING HERE
Directions TO ALYESKA Resort
Alyeska Resort is located just 40 miles south of Anchorage, Alaska in the town of Girdwood. Convenient access is available at the modern Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
From the airport, take the scenic Seward Highway heading south. The Seward Highway was voted America’s Most Outstanding Scenic Byway by Scenic America, a national conservation organization, in 1995 and by the US Department of Transportation in 2000.
The Seward Highway follows along the Turnagain Arm with many interpretative rest stops and view points. Depending on the season, it is not unusual to spot beluga whales or dall sheep from your car window. Take the highway and look for signs to Girdwood, the home of Alyeska Resort. You will take a left-hand turn onto Alyeska Highway and continue down the road for three miles. When you come to a “T” intersection – turn left and go one mile for Alyeska Resort. To get to Alyeska Resort’s Daylodge and base area, turn right at the “T”.
Alyeska Resort offers valet parking for hotel guests at $27 for overnight parking and $15 for Dinner or Nordic Spa parking.

Transportation
Once you have landed, whether by plane or boat, getting to Alyeska Resort is easy. Options range from car and RV rentals to chauffeured transportation. Glacier Valley Transit provides free public transportation in and around the Resort and the town of Girdwood.
Our Concierge Desk can arrange for your preferred ground transportation to/from anywhere in the state.
TRANSPORT OPTIONS FROM THE AIRPORT
There are several transportation options from the Anchorage airport to the Alyeska resort in Girdwood:
OPTION 1
The resort can make arrangements for taxi and/or car service. Contact the concierge to make arrangements 24 hours in advance at guestservices@alyeskaresort.com.
OPTION 2
Car rental.
OPTION 3
Take a train to Girdwood, then the local Girdwood transit. It is a 15-20 minute taxi/uber ride in Anchorage from the airport to the train depot in Anchorage. In the summer the train runs twice a day from Anchorage to Girdwood and twice a day from Girdwood back to Anchorage.

The Girdwood bus schedule.
From Anchorage Airport:
- Exit the airport via International Airport Road
- Turn right (south) on to Minnesota
- Follow Minnesota (south and then east, following the curve in the road) until you reach the New Seward Highway
- Turn right (south) on to the New Seward Highway and proceed south along the Turnagain Arm for approximately 31 miles Follow signs to Girdwood
- Turn left at Girdwood onto the Alyeska Highway at mile 90 along the Seward Highway (Tesoro Gas Station on the left)
- Follow this road approximately three miles until you reach the large Alyeska Resort welcome sign
- Turn left onto Arlberg Road and follow for one mile to Alyeska Resort
Parking at Alyeska Resort
Alyeska Resort offers a variety of convenient parking options for resort guests, including valet parking, self-parking, accessible and overflow parking during peak periods.
- Valet Parking is available at the main entrance and provides easy access to the hotel, restaurants, tram, Nordic spa and resort amenities. Our Bell Desk team is available to assist with luggage and guest arrivals.
- Self-Parking is available in designated resort parking lots located throughout the property. During busy periods, guests may be directed to overflow parking areas, with complimentary shuttle service available when applicable.
- Accessible (ADA) Parking spaces are available throughout the resort. If all designated accessible parking spaces are occupied upon your arrival, please proceed to the valet area, where our Bell Desk team will be happy to assist and help accommodate your accessibility needs.

All rental car companies listed are located in the new Rental Car Center across from the South Terminal. Free Airport shuttle buses travel between the South Terminal, North Terminal, and the Rental Car Center every 15 minutes daily (24-hours a day).

Bac Executive Transport
The Girdwood Express Shuttle Service
Departs Anchorage every hour during the summer months, offering multiple pickup points, including the Anchorage Airport, the Anchorage Visitors Center, and select Anchorage Hotels. Return shuttles will depart from Alyeska on the hour. Winter shuttles are available on an on-call basis.
